[Intro: warped synth, 808 heartbeat] (north-north? nah-nah) [Verse: elastic sing-rap] They drew a little arrow, said, "Follow that" I spun it toward a rooftop full of alley cats Their straight line led to doors already known My crooked little needle found a road of its own [Pre-Chorus: rising thirds] Let the needle dance (dance-dance) I don't need their chance [Chorus: bright falsetto, stacked harmonies] I'm a crooked compass, spinning toward the strange I don't need permission for a beautiful change Call it getting lost, I call it coming home The world gets bigger when I roam (way-way-way out!) [Drop: chopped vocals, syncopated cowbell] (no-map, no-map) (ah-ee-ah!) [Outro: whispered harmony] True north never knew me anyway.
