[Verse 1] You left your coat beside the door I found it folded, nothing more The words we threw still had their sting But morning made room for something kind [Pre-Chorus] One honest breath, one open hand A softer place to take our stand [Chorus] Forgive, and let the good begin Make a little room for someone in We mend the hurt, we change the way A kinder world starts here today Forgive, and leave the door unclosed Give grace the chance to take root and grow [Verse 2] The neighbor held my grocery bag We laughed about the torn-up tag A small repair, a simple deed Can be the kindness someone needs [Bridge] Not saying hurt was never real Just choosing what we help to heal [Final Chorus] Forgive, and let the good begin Make a little room for someone in We mend the hurt, we change the way A kinder world starts here today Forgive, and leave the door unclosed Give grace the chance to take root and grow [Outro] A kinder world starts here
