[Verse — trip-hop bass] The ground is soft beneath my feet It tastes of sugar, smells so sweet A velvet touch, a golden store I sink a little, ask for more [Pre-Chorus] I know the surface isn't land But oh, the comfort of the sand [Chorus — lush harmonies] Velvet quicksand, pull me in Make me feel alive again I know the deeper that I go The harder leaving comes to feel But when the world is cold and hollow This is warmth that I can steal (Pull me down, hold me close) [Bridge — distorted bass] I want to climb, I want to stay I make that choice a thousand ways [Outro] The velvet reaches for my chin I close my eyes and settle in
