Kindness Keeps on Traveling

[Verse 1]
You held the door when my hands were full
You learned my name when the room was loud
A paper cup of water, a chair pulled near
Small things make a little more room here

[Pre-Chorus]
I carried that care past the corner store
And left it with someone who needed it more

[Chorus]
Kindness keeps on traveling
Hand to hand, heart to heart
What you give becomes a way through
What we share becomes a start
Every patient word can open
Every welcome make us whole
The world grows rich in what we give
And richer still in every soul

[Verse 2]
You stayed a while while I found my words
You let the silence take the time it takes
I brought that patience home with me
And gave it where a hard day breaks

[Pre-Chorus]
One gentle act can cross a town
A dozen hands can pass it round

[Chorus]
Kindness keeps on traveling
Hand to hand, heart to heart
What you give becomes a way through
What we share becomes a start
Every patient word can open
Every welcome make us whole
The world grows rich in what we give
And richer still in every soul

[Bridge]
Not coins in a jar, not a score to keep
But meals set out and a promise you keep
A place at the table, a second chance
A little more courage to take the next step

[Final Chorus]
Kindness keeps on traveling
Hand to hand, heart to heart
What you give becomes a way through
What we share becomes a start
Every patient word can open
Every welcome make us whole
The world grows rich in what we give
And richer still in every soul

[Outro]
You gave a little room to breathe
I’ll pass that room along
A world made richer, one kind act
One open door, one song
