Lift the Worst

[Verse 1]
I saw you foldin' in
Behind a hard-spun day
Carrying that heavy look
Like it might never fade

Your hands were built for hurt
Your eyes were tired rain
But you still held the door
Still said my name

[Pre-Chorus]
And I know
What that kind of weight can do
But there's a way
Back out into the blue

[Chorus]
Feel the power of kindness
Power of kindness
Love can reach you first
Feel the power of kindness
Power of kindness
Empathy and forgiveness
Lift the worst

[Verse 2]
I left my pride on the floor
Right where it broke in two
You said "come closer now"
Like the kindest truth

No score to settle here
No need to keep the scar
Just a soft open hand
For a bruised-up heart

[Pre-Chorus]
And I know
We can be more than we've been
Say the word
And we begin again

[Chorus]
Feel the power of kindness
Power of kindness
Love can reach you first
Feel the power of kindness
Power of kindness
Empathy and forgiveness
Lift the worst

[Bridge]
If you stumbled through the dark
If you ran out of light
I will meet you where you are
And stay on your side

One small grace can turn
A whole long road around
Watch the walls come down
Watch the walls come down

[Final Chorus]
Feel the power of kindness
Power of kindness
Love can reach you first
Feel the power of kindness
Power of kindness
Empathy and forgiveness
Lift the worst
Feel the power of kindness
Power of kindness
Open hands, open hearts
Feel the power of kindness
Power of kindness
We can all come back
We can all come back
