[Verse 1] I found a blank page under the stairs A box of clay with the dust still there You said, “That’s not how we usually begin” I rolled my sleeves and let the mess in [Pre-Chorus] One wrong turn, one new door A shape we never made before [Chorus] Try the color you’ve never touched Make a little, learn a lot Every medium opens up A wider world than the one we’ve got Take the risk, let the first draft breathe There’s more than one way to make belief [Verse 2] We traded the camera for paper and glue Made tiny worlds from a different view The plan fell apart, then the best part grew A crooked line led somewhere true [Pre-Chorus] One wrong turn, one new door A shape we never made before [Chorus] Try the color you’ve never touched Make a little, learn a lot Every medium opens up A wider world than the one we’ve got Take the risk, let the first draft breathe There’s more than one way to make belief [Breakdown] Hands in the paint Feet on the floor Say yes to the thing You’ve not tried before [Final Chorus] Try the color you’ve never touched Make a little, learn a lot Every medium opens up A wider world than the one we’ve got Take the risk, let the first draft breathe There’s more than one way to make belief [Outro] Make it strange, make it new There’s another way through
