Mirror Bite

[Verse 1]
I catch my face in your black screen
Fix my hair in a broken sheen
I laugh too loud at my own joke
Then choke on the smoke

The room goes quiet when I enter
Still I need it to be about me
Your eyes look like a vacant house
I call that jealousy

[Pre-Chorus]
I want the room, I want the stare
I want your hands, I want you there
But when you reach, I back away
I need the throne, I need the cage

[Chorus]
Mirror bite, mirror bite
Kiss me clean, then sink your teeth
Mirror bite, mirror bite
I shine alone, I starve beneath
(oh-oh)
I need the crown
I need the crowd
Mirror bite, mirror bite

[Verse 2]
My name tastes sweet in my own mouth
I wear it like a gold tooth grin
Every "you" turns back to "me"
And I let that happen again

I fill the dark with my reflection
Count my faults like trophies won
Lonely is a locked-up mansion
And I am the only one

[Pre-Chorus]
I want the room, I want the stare
I want your hands, I want you there
But when you reach, I back away
I need the throne, I need the cage

[Chorus]
Mirror bite, mirror bite
Kiss me clean, then sink your teeth
Mirror bite, mirror bite
I shine alone, I starve beneath
(oh-oh)
I need the crown
I need the crowd
Mirror bite, mirror bite

[Bridge]
[Half-time]
What if I’m just a hungry ghost?
What if the praise is all I know?
I built a palace out of applause
Now every hall is cold

[Chorus]
Mirror bite, mirror bite
Kiss me clean, then sink your teeth
Mirror bite, mirror bite
I shine alone, I starve beneath
(oh-oh)
I need the crown
I need the crowd
Mirror bite, mirror bite
