More Than One Heart's Worth

[Verse 1]
You watch me laugh with someone new
And read a leaving in my face
But what I give away to them
Doesn’t take your place
I know the fear behind your eyes
That love is counted, portioned, weighed
I wish you felt how every bond
Can deepen, not degrade

[Pre-Chorus]
There’s no last piece in my hands
No final share to spend
What I feel for you stays whole
As my heart opens again

[Chorus]
I can love you, love them too
And nothing in my love for you gets smaller
Every heart I hold is true
Each new affection makes the whole thing larger
Don’t mistake my reaching out
For turning away from you
I have more than one heart’s worth
And every part is true

[Verse 2]
Your voice still finds me through the din
Your small, exact jokes still land
I know the freckle near your eye
The warmth of your right hand
And when I turn to someone else
It doesn’t steal a thing we grew
I’m not divided into halves
I’m still completely yours, and true

[Bridge]
Love isn’t a candle passed along
That leaves one person in the dark
It’s a field that keeps on widening
With every living spark

[Final Chorus]
I can love you, love them too
And nothing in my love for you gets smaller
Every heart I hold is true
Each new affection makes the whole thing larger
Don’t mistake my reaching out
For turning away from you
I have more than one heart’s worth
And every part is true
[Outro]
You are not less loved by me
