Moving Free

[Verse 1]
I am standing on my own concrete
Grounded in the skin I wear
Every mirror is a two-way street
And I don't mind the weathered tear
But a quiet lake is beautiful
Until it turns to stone
If I'm moving it is purposeful
For myself, and mine alone

[Chorus]
Comfortable as I am today
But I am ready for the road
Not for the words they want to say
Not for the weight of their own load
I will bend but I won't break
I will run to catch the spark
Every shift I choose to make
Is my own light in the dark

[Verse 2]
Don't you sculpt me to your perfect mold
To satisfy a passing eye
My own story is a book untold
And I'm the one who writes the sky
Stagnation is a heavy chain
I'd rather shed the shell and grow
Through the sun and through the rain
At a pace that only I will know

[Chorus]
Comfortable as I am today
But I am ready for the road
Not for the words they want to say
Not for the weight of their own load
I will bend but I won't break
I will run to catch the spark
Every shift I choose to make
Is my own light in the dark

[Outro]
I change for me
I rise for me
Comfortable right here
But moving free
