[Verse 1] I wanna be the reason you pick yourself up after all these years, after all these tears I never wanna see you hurt no more, just wanna see you smile for the longest while As I fade in old memories fade out [Chorus] I know you've seen the darkest of darkness, but I will bring light 'cause I will fight the fight So please hold on to my hand and I will hold on tight right on through the night As the sun comes up and shines down on us [Verse 2] I wanna be the reason you pick yourself up after all these years, after all these tears I never ever wanna see you hurt no more, I just wanna see you smile for the longest while As I fade in old memories fade out [Chorus] I know you've seen the darkest of darkness, and I will bring light 'cause I will fight the fight So why don't you please hold on to my hand 'cause I will hold on tight right on through the night As the sun comes up and shines down on us
