I Want to See What Happens

5. I WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS

[Verse 1]
Some nights I think we’re building
The greatest tool we’ve ever known
A second mind beside us
To help us reach beyond our own

Some nights I see the headlines
And wonder what we’ve set in motion
A species holding lightning
With the patience of an ocean

[Chorus]
But I want to see what happens
I want to see what comes
I want to watch the old walls crumble
And discover what we become

I’m frightened by the distance
I’m excited by the view
I don’t know if we’re ready
But tomorrow’s coming through

[Verse 2]
Maybe work becomes less central
Maybe knowledge becomes cheap
Maybe science moves in months
Through questions that once took years to reach

Maybe lies become much easier
Maybe trust becomes the cost
Maybe we gain new kinds of freedom
While mourning what gets lost

[Bridge]
There is no clean prophecy
No single ending waiting there
Just billions making choices
With creation everywhere

So I’ll keep asking questions
Keep my curiosity alive
Hope is not believing nothing breaks
It’s believing we can try

[Final Chorus]
I want to see what happens
Even trembling at the door
There are futures worth protecting
And futures worth reaching for

I’m frightened and I’m ready
Those feelings can be true
The future isn’t something coming
It’s something that we do
