[Intro: courtroom murmurs, gavel strike, pipe organ ⚖️] [The Judge] The court will hear the case Of Everybody versus You. Bring forward every face he wore. Let each one tell the truth. [Verse 1: Gothic Rock, low choir, marching toms 🎭] First came the perfect gentleman, Polite and freshly pressed. He always knew what others needed, Never what he wanted best. Then entered the comedian, Still laughing through the strain. He turned each wound into a joke So no one saw the pain. The hero wore a crimson cape, Prepared to rescue all. The scholar carried answers So he’d never look too small. A lover dressed in borrowed dreams Swore every match was fate. A thousand versions filled the room. The real one arrived late. [Chorus: Arena Rock, narrator surrounded by voices 🌪️] Which face is mine When every mask can speak? Am I endlessly adaptable Or terrified and weak? I became what every room required, Then vanished when it cleared. If everybody loved my faces, Was it me they ever cheered? [Witness I: THE HERO] [Genre Shift: Triumphant Glam Funk, brass and swagger 🦸] I saved them when they stumbled! I carried every load! [Witness II: THE MARTYR] [Music darkens, distorted bass 🩸] Then made them feel indebted For each mile of their road. [Witness III: THE JESTER] [Genre Shift: Manic Punk Cabaret, frantic piano 🃏] I kept the whole room laughing! Never let the silence start! [Witness IV: THE CHILD] [Music stops, fragile whisper] Because silence lets them notice There is terror in my heart. [Chorus: Post-Hardcore, screamed backing vocals ⚡] Which face is mine? WHO GETS TO CHOOSE? If I tear away the costumes, Is there anything to lose? One begs, “Admire me!” One cries, “Don’t leave!” One says, “Become whatever They are willing to believe!” I’ve worn a thousand faces. Each protected something small. But armor worn forever Is another prison wall. [Bridge: Dark Synth-Pop, heartbeat bass, mirror cracks 🪞] [The Prosecutor] You manipulated kindness. [The Defense] He only wished to cope. [The Prosecutor] He sold them tailored versions. [The Defense] He gave them needed hope. [Judge] Both arguments are honest. Both arguments evade. He harmed and helped through every mask. Now bring the one beneath the masquerade. [Final Movement: Gospel Rock, organ, massive choir 🔥] [Narrator] I am jealous! I am generous! I am frightened! I am vain! I have danced for your approval! I have hidden from your pain! Every face contained a fragment. Every mask was partly true. But I’ll no longer call it loving To become a lie for you! [Final Chorus: Orchestral crescendo, choir, key change 🌅] This face is mine, Though unfinished and unclear. It may disappoint the courtroom. It may cost the crowd its cheer. I can enter without rescuing. I can speak without a role. I can let somebody dislike me Without bargaining my soul. [Outro: gavel raised, music falls silent] [Judge] How does the defendant plead? [Narrator] Human. [Gavel strike, choir whispers] Accepted.
