Weird Out Loud

[Verse 1]
I used to practice normal in the shine of a black screen
Copying the faces that the adverts said were clean
Then I wore my laugh too loud, let the odd idea spill
Turns out every strange little spark can light a hill

[Pre-Chorus]
You bring your sideways stories
I’ll bring my offbeat grin
We make a better weather
When we let the weirdness in

[Chorus]
Stay strange, stay strange
Let your bright odd colors fly
Stay strange, stay strange
There’s no prize for blending in tonight
If your mind takes the scenic route
I’ll come wandering there with you
Stay strange, stay strange
We’re better when we’re weird out loud

[Verse 2]
You name the clouds like animals, I build a beetle band
Someone turns a math problem into dancing with their hands
The usual rules look smaller when we share the things we make
And every unlikely angle gives the whole wide world a break

[Pre-Chorus]
You bring your sideways stories
I’ll bring my offbeat grin
We make a better weather
When we let the weirdness in

[Bridge]
No need to match the pattern
No need to color in
You start your wild invention
I’ll cheer before it wins

[Final Chorus]
Stay strange, stay strange
Let your bright odd colors fly
Stay strange, stay strange
There’s no prize for blending in tonight
If your mind takes the scenic route
I’ll come wandering there with you
Stay strange, stay strange
We’re better when we’re weird out loud

[Outro]
Weird out loud
Me and you
